TRAVEL TRIGGER POINT & STRAINCOUNTERSTRAIN – AN OSTEOPATHIC APPROACH LECTURE VIDEO
Class Video $325.00
Dr. Travell defined a Trigger Point as “a hyperirritable spot in skeletal muscle that is associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band. The spot is tender when pressed and can give rise to characteristic referred pain, motor dysfunction, and autonomic phenomena.
Counterstain is a system of diagnosis and treatment that considers the dysfunction to be a continuing, inappropriate strain reflex, which is inhibited by applying a position of mild strain in the direction exactly opposite to that of the reflex; this is accomplished by specific directed positioning about the point of tenderness to achieve the desired therapeutic response.
This class will tie together the two different systems into a complimentary system of assessment and treatment through the Osteopathic concepts and philosophy.
7 Part Video Series: $325.00
The Unstretchables: Plantar Fascia, Achilles, Hamstrings, Iliotibial Band, Iliopsoas, Latissimus Dorsi, Pectoralis Minor, Scalenes, Upper Trapezius, and Suboccipitals
There are many misconceptions about how to treat different musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Standard medical experts claim one thing while research claims another. This class separates the myth from the facts about when, why, and how to deal with these problem areas. Learn scientific, logical, and current ways in which to deal with the “Unstretchables.”
The respiratory diaphragm, pelvic diaphragm, cranial diaphragm, thoracic inlet, and popliteal/foot diaphragm are discussed. They are looked at from a different perspective as they relate to fluid drive biomechanics, and endocrine aspects of patients in clinical practice. Dysfunction of these areas are explained in relation to adaptive behavior.
5 Part Video Series: $325.00
Integrated Upper Extremity in Sport and Workplace
Integrated function of the cervical and thoracic, scapular, clavicular, and costal structures are addressed in lecture and laboratory sessions. Integrated biomechanics, anatomy, and embryology are discussed in relation to dysfunction patterning in the workplace and sports activities.
6 Part Video Series: $325.00
Concussion in Sport
This class will look at specific biomechanical needs and requirements of each sport. Understanding the proper movement pattern will help establish normative values in relationship to injury and recovery. The most common injuries will be discussed as well as adaptive and compensatory injuries.
INTEGRATED LOWER EXTREMITY, PELVIS AND LUMBAR SPINE LECTURE VIDEO SERIES
6 Part Video Series: $325.00
Integrated Lower Extremity, Pelvis And Lumbar Spine
This class will address the next level of Muscle Energy Technique and integrate both lower extremity biomechanics with long lever and short lever adaptations. We will look at different biomechanical, fascial, neurological and immunological functions of the pelvis and lower extremities.
